By the time a child is 8 months old, they are able to understand a few sentences and sequences of the story if iterated twice or thrice. Read stories out loud and help them flip through the pages while they listen.

  1. Encourage Healthy Eating Habits

There are a hundred reasons why you should encourage healthy eating at an early age but one of the important ones is a healthy meal every day gives them enough nutrition to drive through the day with more focus thus resulting in better grades at school.

  1. Let them sleep

The quality of sleep has endless benefits for the brain development of a child. A good quality sound sleep aids in quick learning and grasping of things. It also helps them retain larger chunks of information, thus making them smarter.

Studies show that happier children are more engaged and interested in the process of learning. They are more curious to ask questions and perform accordingly.

  1. Encourage them even if they fail

We can’t always expect them to win all the time. Therefore, it becomes important to help them understand failure and also to encourage them to learn from those failures without being discouraged. This inculcates a learning attitude in them.

  1. Spend time

Children while growing up need the most attention from parents and family attention. Attention here doesn’t mean a 24 X 7 surveillance but quality time to be spent with them. Basic conversations about their day at school while telling about your day, having a family dinner every night, going for walks, and no gadget zones are the best practices you can do to spend some quality time with your little one.

This helps them connect socially and emotionally as they grow through the first five years.

  1. Let their brain work

It’s a natural instinct to solve every problem your child encounters. But, this habit of helping can make your child more dependent on you than them. So, make sure you let them make mistakes, solve problems, and use their brains.

It not only will help them solve problems but also will make them inquisitive about new things.
